| George Off is chairman of the
board of Catalina Marketing Corporation. One of the corporation's founders, Mr. Off has
also served as president and chief executive officer, responsible for overall corporate
management and guiding of long-term corporate strategy. He has also held the positions of
vice president of operations, executive vice president and chief operating officer. An expert on scanning data applications in the retail grocery industry, Mr. Off was instrumen- tal in the development of Catalina Marketing from its earliest phases. During his nearly 35 years in the retail marketing industry, where he began as a box boy at age 15, Mr. Off has held operations and executive positions at two major supermarket chains. Prior to his participation in developing Checkout CouponO in 1983, he spent 10 years managing store systems at Lucky Stores. While at Lucky, Mr. Off was a member of the joint coupon task force, which developed industry-wide cost studies and standards. During the preceding 10 years, he worked in store operations at Safeway Stores, Inc. He also worked as a consultant to the Uniform Code Council. Mr. Off is a member of the Food Merchandisers' Education Council. He is also a member of the boards of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc., the Source Information Management Co., Take Stock in Children, and Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. |
