Gary Hutchinson has been a minerals management consultant since 1981, starting an oil and gas company, DynOil Inc., and a mining company, Rocky Canyon Mining Company, while managing and consulting on mineral properties for several major clients.

Prior to starting his own business, Mr. Hutchinson was president of Western States Minerals Corporation and vice president of Eastern Star Oil and Gas Exploration until 1980.

Before entering the natural resource industries in 1975, Mr. Hutchinson worked in the heavy construction industry, specializing in large underground projects including tunnels, shafts, powerhouses and missile bases.

Mr. Hutchinson has served as president of the CSM Alumni Association, is a charter member of the Colorado School of Mines President's Council and has served on the CSM Foundation Board since 1992. He has been vice chairman of the Board since 1997. Mr. Hutchinson is also chairman of the CSM Foundation Investment Committee. During his eight years of involvement, CSMF invested funds have grown from $40 million to more than $120 million.
