Web Project Update: Mines has hired Mind Over Media (MOM) for the redevelopment of the
Schools web presence. Phase I of this project will be a new outward-facing,
marketing-focused website, designed to attract new students and faculty while providing
information to other external constituents. Phase II of the project will focus on
redeveloping portions of the inward-facing (also public) campus community website.
(Trailhead will remain the password-protected site for strictly internal information.) MOM
has extensive experience with the higher education market. The committee was impressed
with MOMs creative work at other schools, as well as with the outstanding references
that other universities gave MOM. To learn more about Mind Over Media, see www.momedu.com.
The Mines Web Redevelopment Committee has completed discovery sessions with MOM. The firm
has delivered strategic insights, a project brief, an audience identification, a
competitive analysis, critical tactics, a technical brief, an annotated site map and a
comprehensive site map. The committee will continue to work closely with MOM during the
summer months to develop a contemporary and compelling new web presence, easily navigated
by users, and concise and simple enough to be managed effectively by the institution. To
read more about the committees work, see http://webproject.mines.edu. (This site is
only available for on-campus viewing.)
